One of the many philanthropy events that takes place during Homecoming is Penny Wars among the various teams that are participating in homecoming. All of the money that is donated during the wars will go straight to the Children's Miracle Network. In order to raise enough money for LEAD to win penny wars this year, we believe that it would be extremely fun to have penny wars among LEAD scholars! Starting this week (Oct 13th) there will be cups in the LEAD lounge with the names of all of the 1st year classes' mentors on them. Which ever cup ends up with the most pennies inside (silver coins are negative points) means that the mentors on the cup win. And what is their prize do you ask??? Their prize is to get one lovely pie in the face each! Thats right! Which ever mentors have the most pennies in their cups will be pied in the face! So for all of you first years who would love to see a pie in their mentor's face please bring all of your pennies and fill up their cups! Second years you also want to see your fellow LEAD scholars and friends be pied in the face, so please join in the fun! Penny wars will take place from Oct. 13th to the 31st! So bring in those pennies!!! |

Hurricane Ike Nonperishable items Drive |

For those who are not aware LEAD is having a nonperishable items drive to go towards all of the damage that Hurricane Ike has caused in Texas and our neighboring island countries. There are 2 competitions going on currently for this drive! The first competition is for First Year LEAD classes. Which ever LEAD class brings in the most amount of nonperishable items will recieve a pizza party (or breakfast if class is in the morning)!! The other competition is an individual competitition for second years! Which ever second year brings in the most amount of Nonperishable items will recieve an amazing prize! Please bring all of your items to the LL and fill out a quick form to detail what you have brought in and place your items in the boxes in front of the main desk! LEAD Homecoming Skit Auditions will be held between Sept. 23rd - 24th from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Hercules Activity Center!!! Come out if you want to audition for a speaking role! Also, dance practice begins on Sept. 29th on top of Garage B at 7:00 PM! BE THERE AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS!!!!

Come learn about LEAD's new Committee, Exhale! The committee will be involved in creating and acting out random acts of kindness towards UCF students and faculty. Even the smallest act can make a large difference for UCF! For actual events a LEAD student will receive service hours! The meeting will be at 3:30pm in the Lead Lounge, Friday September 26th.
